Here are a couple of mine. I prefer butts with some curve to them vs. the standard flat butt. :)
Mine was derived from a mirror image of my headstock shape. If you look at how my sides terminate, it's the same shape as my headstock, then mirrored. The shape of the end graft is what comes of the negative space. They are a challenge especially when I have to calculate for something like a "wedge", like this:
